The CRTC said Wednesday it has issued a call for applications for a new Toronto radio station after receiving a submission from Dufferin Communications Inc. to change the broadcasting frequency of its CIRR-FM Toronto station. In its initial application, Dufferin proposed moving CIRR-FM from the 103.9 MHz frequency to an available 88.1 MHz slot. The company also proposed to increase the station’s transmitter power, the commission said. In response to the application, the CRTC opened a call for any further applications to use the spectrum. Applications are due by Dec. 19, the commission said.
