Corus Entertainment Inc. recorded revenues totaling $236.9 million in the first fiscal quarter of 2012, the company announced on Monday. That figure, which was inclusive through Nov. 30, 2011, was up seven per cent from $222.2 million for the same quarter last year, the company noted in a release. Corus’ television revenues grew to $185 million over the three-month period, the company added, up from $167 million for the same quarter last year. Conversely, its radio revenues decreased by five per cent in 2012, going from $56 million last year to $52 million during this year’s first quarter. The company’s basic earnings per share also grew by two cents over last year, rising to $0.61 per share. The company said its net income for the first quarter totaled $50.5 million, up $4.3 million from last year’s quarter total of $46.2 million.
