IDC adds two new executives

Digital content distribution firm International Datacasting Corp. (IDC) announced Friday that it has appointed a new chief financial officer and a new managing director for the Asia-Pacific region. Rick Clements, a chartered accountant with “30 years of experience in senior financial and operational roles with public and private companies in the technology sector,” will join the company as its new chief financial officer, the IDC said in a release. Clements has previously served as the chief financial executive at FanVision Entertainment LLC and Kangaroo Media. He has also held “senior finance and operational roles” at Klocwork Inc., Versatel Networks Inc., InBusiness Solutions, OpenText Corp. and Fulcrum Technologies Inc., the IDC release said. IDC also announced on Friday that Karlton Burn will become the company’s new managing director for the Asia-Pacific region, leaving his role as general manager of Asia-Pacific sales at the video technology solution company Grass Valley. “Mr. Burn brings to the company over 20 years experience in the Asian market, where he has held key roles as Managing Director, APAC for Harris Broadcast Communications (formerly: Leitch Technology) and then as CEO of the China based company, Dayang Technology , in Beijing,” IDC said in its release. Frederick Godard, IDC’s president and CEO, said in the release that Burn’s hiring would “greatly assist us as we embark upon an initiative to increase our market reach into high growth international markets.” Based in Ottawa, IDC provides IP-based datacasting solutions for the distribution of multimedia content.
