BCE Inc. subsidiary Bell Aliant is spending $6 million to extend it FibreOP fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network to Grand Falls, N.B. and Corner Brook N.L., the company said in a pair of releases this week. In a release issued Tuesday, Bell Aliant said it will invest $4.1 million to connect more than 10,000 homes and businesses to its FTTH network in Corner Brook. In a separate release on Wednesday, the company said it is also investing $2 million to bring the FibreOP service to 3,000 homes and businesses in Grand Falls. It said the service, which offers offers download speeds of up to 250 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 30 Mbps, will be available to Grand Falls customers starting June 22.
