Songza Media Inc.’s music streaming application has more than one million registered users in Canada since its launch in August, the New York-based company said Thursday. In a release, Songza said its Music Concierge service reached had surpassed one million users within its first 70 days of operating in Canada, and that those users have used more than 160 million distinct “streams” through the app. The company said the service, which streams context-specific music playlists for users based on where they are and what time of the day they are using it, is most popular among users of Apple Inc.’s iPhone, iPad and iPod devices. It said those users accounted for more than 900,000 of the total. Songza said Canadian users spend, on average, 3.66 per cent longer on the app per visit than American users.
