Blue Ant Media Inc. purchased Cottage Life Media Inc. and its four consumer publications, the company said Wednesday. Blue Ant bought magazines Cottage Life, Cottage, Outdoor Canada, Canadian Home Workshop and their associated websites, a release said, as well as Cottage Life Media custom magazines, books, social-media apps, and bi-annual Cottage Life consumer shows. Cottage Life Media will continue to be led by founder and chief executive Al Zikovitz, the release said. It did not disclose the purchase price. Specialty channel owner Blue Ant also reached a deal this year to buy CBC/Radio-Canada’s specialty channel Bold, and last year purchased GlassBox Television Inc. and its channels. “Our goal is to be leaders in content creation and distribution and this allows us to leverage broadcast, digital and publishing to engage a targeted audience across all platforms,” Michael MacMillan, CEO of Blue Ant, said in a statement.
