The CRTC approved applications by Paul Girouard for three more Category B specialty channels, the commission said Thursday. In the first decision, the CRTC said the national, English-language Flying Television channel would be dedicated to all aspects of flight including airplanes, pilots and stories about air travel. In a second decision, the commission said the approved World Sports Network would feature amateur and professional sports through live coverage, documentaries, instructional and informational programming. A third channel, Boating TV, would be dedicated to all aspects of boating and nautical activities, another CRTC decision said. In October, the commission approved a pair of applications by Girouard, on behalf of an unincorprated company, for a pair of hockey-themed sports channels. All three of the new licences will expire on Aug. 31, 2019, the commission said.
