The CRTC approved a new adult contemporary radio station for the Clarence-Rockland area of Ontario. In a decision Monday, the commission said it received an application from Evanov Communications Inc. subsidiary Dufferin Communications Inc. to operate an adult contemporary music station on the 92.5 MHz FM frequency. In the decision, the CRTC said the new station would broadcast 126 hours of local programming each week with 18 hours devoted to spoken word programming and six hours and 25 minutes of pure news. “The station would also feature weather, sports and special features such as health watch, agricultural reports, new music reports, marine/golf/ski/seasonal reports and a community calendar,” the decision said. The CRTC said the licence expires Aug. 31, 2019.
