Bell Aliant Inc. is expanding its FibreOP fibre-to-the-home network to Bishop’s Falls, N.L., this month, the company said. In a release Tuesday, Bell Aliant said it has invested $1 million to expand its fibre network to 1,650 subscribers in Bishop’s Falls. The company's fibre-based Internet and TV serviced offer Internet download speeds of up to 250 Mbps and uploads of up to 30 Mbps. Bell Aliant, which is controlled by owner BCE Inc., said last week that it also plans to expand its fibre-to-the-home network to 800,000 buildings in Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, and Atlantic Canada by the end of 2013.
