Cogeco Cable Inc. announced Monday that Pierre Gagne has stepped down as the company's chief financial officer. The company said in a press release that he left because of "personal reasons." No replacement was named, nor was a timeline or process for finding a new chief financial officer immediately specified. Canaccord Genuity analyst Dvai Ghose said in research note Monday that while Gagne had held the position since 1995, he does not expect "any change in in the company's strategic direction." Cogeco has recently indicated its intention to use WiFi routers in people's homes to create public hotspots, has cancelled an IPTV project in favour of a partnership with TiVo Inc. and mused about the possibility of launching wireless service as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO).
