UpSnap Inc., a Toronto-based provider of mobile-ad services, said Wednesday that it grew its revenue in the first quarter and reduced losses. It said in a press release that overall revenue was up 33.1 per cent from a year earlier to $1.4 million. Revenue specifically from mobile advertisements rose 66.5 per cent over that time to $1.2 million, it said. UpSnap said it saw a net loss of about $360,000 during the quarter, reduced from a deficit of $670,00 a year before. The company says on its website that its service "goes beyond location" and uses "each user's personal consumption patterns based on their app/site usage pattern" to help clients deliver "highly targeted, data-driven mobile advertising."
