The CRTC has another opening among its senior officials, following the departure of secretary general Danielle May-Cuconato. In an email, CRTC spokeswoman Patricia Valladao said May-Cuconato “joined another department a week ago.” She added that “executive management will be rotating as acting secretary general until the position is filled.” Claude Doucet, executive director of communications and external relations, is filling in between Aug. 21 and Sept. 29. Broadcasting executive director Scott Hutton is listed as taking over from Oct. 2 to Nov. 10, while Chris Seidl, executive director of telecommunications, is scheduled to finish off the year from Nov. 14 to Dec. 22. May-Cuconato joined the CRTC in November 2015, taking over after former secretary general John Traversy retired. Prior to her appointment as the regulator’s chief financial and chief operating officer, May-Cuconato was the vice-president of corporate services and chief financial officer at the Canada School of Public Service, according to her CRTC bio.
