Bill C-16 won’t hold platforms accountable for online harms, lawyer says, as Ottawa remains silent on X deepfakes 

Despite the government’s assertion that Bill C-16, the recently proposed Protecting Victims Act, will quell AI-generated sexual abuse material, Canadian litigator and internet lawyer Maanit Zemel says it leaves a critical gap unaddressed.
