After meeting with OpenAI to discuss the company’s failure to alert law enforcement of troubling behaviour on ChatGPT from Jesse Van Rootselaar, the shooter who killed eight people and herself earlier this month in Tumbler Ridge, B.C., Artificial Intelligence (AI) Minister Evan Solomon’s message was clear — action must be taken.
