Fraser hints deepfake regulations could extend into privacy law as opposition MPs say AI strategy lacks protection details

Opposition MPs are criticizing the federal government’s new AI strategy for lacking details on how the Liberals will protect against the risks of artificial intelligence (AI), but Justice Minister Sean Fraser suggested criminal deepfake regulation could be complemented by measures in an updated privacy law.
