BlackBerry reports loss, further fall in subscriber base

Waterloo, Ont.-based RIM Ltd., operating as BlackBerry, reported shipments of 6.8 million smartphones for its first quarter of 2014, representing a 13 per cent rise from the previous quarter, though the number of shipments for its touchscreen Z10 smartphone fell short of analyst expectations.
