Brian Groh has resigned as president, CEO and a director of Xplore Technologies Corp. He will continue provide advisory services to the executive committee of the company. Xplore has yet to name a successor for Groh, but his responsibilities have to spread among the executive management team of Mark Holleran, senior VP global sales; Michael Rapisand, CFO; Richard Perley, senior VP of marketing; Philip Sassower, chair of the board; and Andrea Goren. Cimtek, a maker of electronic device test and design products, has appointed Stan Smith to the position of president and CEO. He has an extensive background in product lifecycle management and manufacturing automation, most recently serving as president and CEO of Open Ratings. Prior to that, Smith was VP of worldwide field operations with Agile Systems, where he managed sales, business development, implementations and professional services. Samuel Guénette has been appointed GM of M5T, a provider of software for real-time multimedia communications over IP networks. He will be based in the company’s Sherbrooke office, responsible for managing and growing the company’s worldwide operations. Prior to joining M5T, he was chief software architect of Mediatrix Telecom Inc., a subsidiary of M5T. There, he was responsible for the initial software architecture of Mediatrix’ VoIP software. Peer 1 Networks Enterprise Inc. has appointed Mark Benham to its board of directors. Benham is the co-founder and managing partner of Celerity Partners. His appointment increases the size of the company’s board from five to six members. ACD Systems International has made two changes to its executive management. Nasir Sheikh has been appointed VP of sales and business development and James Latham has been named VP of marketing. Sheikh brings more than 20 years experience in sales and management from SBC, Atlas Telecom, Centerspan and Usha Communications Technology. "My work as a consultant with ACD over the past six months has shown me the enormous potential for growth and the many opportunities for ACD worldwide," said Sheikh in a news release. "I anticipate that ACD’s executive leadership will create momentum to capitalize on the existing and new opportunities in the market." Latham has more than 25 years experience in marketing and management with companies such as IBM, ViewStar Corp., Lotus Development and Atlas Telecom. He added, "By leveraging my experience into this rapidly evolving and fast-growing market, I believe ACD can capitalize on significant opportunities." Paul Godin has resigned from the board of directors of ADB Systems International. He is a founder of the company and held a number of positions over the years at the firm, including CEO. Godin has been replaced by Dave Gelineau.
