Roch Dubé is the new president/CEO of Bell Nordiq Group Inc. He has been senior VP at Bell Canada, president at Aliant Telecom, and president/CEO of Connexim. He succeeds Isabelle Courville, who is now president of the enterprise division of Bell (NL, May 20/03). Brian Thompson, director of business development for Aliant Telecom, has joined the advisory board of the Atlantic Innovation Fund. Joining him on the federal body are former St. Francis Xavier University professor Teresa MacNeil and Vincent MacLean, chair of the Sydney Airport Authority. The trio fill vacancies left by the resignations of Tim O’Neill of the Bank of Montreal; Everett Roche, an accountant in Charlottetown; and Elizabeth Beale, president of the Atlantic Provinces Economic Council. Look Communications Inc. has appointed René Vocelle as COO. The former senior VP finance and operations will keep his title of SVP finance. He is a veteran of Bombardier Capital Inc., Groupe Ultima Inc., Wellington Insurance Group, Voyageur Inc. and CIBC. The Yellow Pages Group has named several new executives. Christian Paupe comes in as executive VP, after serving as chief administrative officer and CFO at Quebecor World Inc. François Ramsay is the new VP, general counsel and secretary. He had been VP general counsel and corporate secretary at Gildan Activewear Inc. and spent many years at Le Groupe Vidéotron ltée. Yvan Proteau is now chief information officer. He is a veteran of Bombardier Transportation and Anabel. Scott Wambolt becomes VP sales after spending nearly eight years at Dell Computer Corp., most recently as GM of the home and small business division. Lorne Richmond, the new VP operations, has over 10 years experience in the directory business. Geneviève LeBrun has worked for Yellow Pages for eight years and has been promoted to VP marketing. Andrew Reddick has joined the National Research Council of Canada’s Institute of Information Technology. The former research director for the Public Interest Advocacy Centre has also been appointed adjunct professor in the department of social sciences at the University of New Brunswick. The Federal Communications Commission in the United States has named Josh Swift as legal counsel to the wireline competition bureau chief. Previously attorney-advisor in the pricing policy division of the wireline bureau, he has been a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, a law clerk for a federal district court judge, and an associate at the Morgan, Lewis & Bockius law firm. Dennis Powell is the new CFO at Cisco Systems. The former senior VP of corporate finance replaces Larry Carter, who is retiring from the equipment manufacturer.
