ProCurve forges closer partner ties

Briefs | 04/09/2007 4:19 pm EDT

Hewlett-Packard Co.'s network equipment arm ProCurve is launching an alliance program to integrate its routers and switches with other vendors' wares. The program's inaugural members are Ottawa's Mitel Networks Corp., network management software provider AirWave Wireless Inc., IP security firm DVTel and voice systems maker ShoreTel Inc. According to ProCurve, the partners will get access to the company's distribution and resale channels. Although ProCurve is the second-largest player in the data networking industry, the company has a relatively low profile compared to sector leader Cisco Systems Inc. Vendor-integration programs are becoming popular among network equipment manufacturers.
