Nortel banks on carrier VoIP amid rumours of bankruptcy

Nortel Network Corp. continues to forge ahead with its key growth areas, particularly the carrier voice over IP (VoIP) and applications business, despite speculation the telecommunications equipment giant is exploring bankruptcy protection. This market represents significant potential for the firm as only a small percentage of traditional telco lines have made the jump from TDM to IP.
