CRTC allows exception on affiliate rates

The CRTC said Monday it has allowed an exception to its rule that telecommunications service providers' affiliates must charge identical rates to the incumbent phone company that controls them when reselling its services that are subject to a tariff. The decision was in relation to an application Northwestel Inc. made late last year, the CRTC said.
