NWTel transfers wireless subs to Bell Mobility

Northwestel Inc. is transferring its wireless customers to Bell Mobility, the BCE Inc. northern subsidiary said. In a notice to customers Monday, Northwestel said it was completing the transfer to allow Bell Mobility—also a BCE subsidiary—to take over development of BCE’s northern wireless infrastructure, allowing Northwestel to focus on expanding its wired services. “A transition plan is underway and is scheduled to last for several months,” the company said. “Our goal is to make the transition smooth and seamless for customers.” Northwestel said customers will be allowed to maintain their current cellphones and phone numbers, and that their contracts will be transferred to Bell Mobility “in the coming weeks and months.” It said...
