The demise of Nortel Networks Corp. was caused by a “lack of resilience” within the company as well as a mixture of other external and internal factors, according to a University of Ottawa study released Monday. A press release from the school said the study found three broad reasons behind the company’s downfall. One was a changing business environment that made the industry in which Nortel operated more competitive and less profitable.
