Two Nunavut radio stations owned by Northern Lights Entertainment Inc. have had their broadcasting licences extended for just two years after the CRTC found they had failed to comply with a series of licence conditions. In a Tuesday decision, the CRTC extended the licences for CKGC-FM Iqaluit and CKIQ-FM Iqaluit until Aug. 31, 2022, ruling a shorter extension was necessary due to “the seriousness of the various instances of non-compliance,” as well as instances of non-compliance during the previous licence term.
