Cabinet lets CRTC renewal of Sirius XM stand

Following the recommendation of Heritage Minister Steven Guilbeault, the governor-in-council has rejected a request for the cabinet to reexamine or send back the CRTC's decision to renew the Canadian licenses of Sirius XM Canada Inc., which operates both Sirius Canada and XM Canada.  In declining to review the decision or send it back, the government has allowed the CRTC's Dec. 2019 decision to stand, which renews the license of Sirius XM's Canadian division through the end of 2024.  In February the Association québécoise de l'industrie du disque, du spectacle et de la video, known...
