Guy Laurence joins Veon board

The former CEO of Rogers Communications Inc., Guy Laurence, has been elected to the supervisory board of Veon Ltd., formerly known as VimpelCom.
The Netherlands-based company made the announcement in a press release Monday.
Both Vimpelcom and Laurence were previously players in Canada’s wireless market — VimpelCom until it sold its Wind Mobile in 2014, which was then bought by Shaw Communications Inc. and renamed Freedom Mobile.
Laurence left Rogers last October after three years in the top job....
