Bell to launch ‘fastest mobile technology’ in North America

BCE Inc. said Thursday that it's set to launch what it calls Tri-band LTE Advanced technology in some Canadian cities, which it says will be "the fastest mobile technology available" in North America. Bell said in a press release that this grade of network will be available in Toronto, Hamilton, Oakville, Ont., and Halifax, with more areas added in the future. It added that the full network capability is only accessible with Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.'s Galaxy S6 edge+ and Galaxy Note5, which will be available through Bell as of Aug. 21. BCE Inc. said Thursday that Kevin Crull is out as president of its Bell Media division, and a press release appeared to link Crull's ousting to his recent conflict with news staff over coverage of the CRTC's decision on TV-channel unbundling.
