A new report by Ericsson AB suggests an accelerated timeline for the roll-out of 5G, as it now expects the next generation network to reach 1.9 billion consumers in 2024, a 27 per cent increase on its November forecast.

A new report by Ericsson AB projects that by the end of 2024, some 1.5 billion people worldwide will have 5G wireless internet subscriptions and about 40 per cent of the world’s population could have network coverage.
