A new report by Ericsson AB projects that by the end of 2024, some 1.5 billion people worldwide will have 5G wireless internet subscriptions and about 40 per cent of the world’s population could have network coverage.
By that year, it will be the "fastest generation ever to be rolled out on a global scale,” Fredrik Jejdling, Ericsson executive vice president, said in the report.
