CBS Corp. has picked up CBC/Radio-Canada sitcom Mr. D and will be creating a U.S.-based version, according to an online report by Postmedia Network. Postmedia reported that Gerry Dee, the creator and star of the show that is based on his career as a Toronto teacher, signed the deal on Thursday. The show will be produced through the production company called Electric Avenue, owned by Canadian actor Will Arnett.
