Canadian Heritage gets new deputy minister

Hélène Laurendeau will be the new deputy minister at Canadian Heritage, the Prime Minister’s Office announced Friday afternoon. Laurendeau is currently deputy minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs, a role she’s held since April 2016. Laurendeau has worked across a wide swath of departments, including the Public Service Commission, Treasury Board, Privy Council Office (PCO) and Justice Canada, although this will be her first time at Heritage.
