Xplornet Communications Inc. has acquired the southern Ontario fibre-based service provider Ocdotus Inc., Xplornet announced Tuesday. Ocdotus -- which operates under the name Metro Loop -- is based in Hamilton and provides fibre-to-the-premise service in the city and Haldimand County, according to a release. Xplornet said that through the acquisition it has acquired all of Octodus' customers. "We're proud of what we've built at Metro Loop," the company's president Jake Vandendool said in the release. "Xplornet will continue to build on our legacy and push the buildout of cutting-edge fibre networks further and faster into rural Ontario."
