CBC/Radio-Canada cut 244 positions from its English and French services, the broadcaster announced Thursday, with the majority of the cuts coming from English-language local news. CBC News editor in chief Jennifer McGuire said in a memo posted online Thursday that outlined the cuts while adding that it intends to add 80 jobs aimed at serving its online and mobile platforms.
