Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. is recalling its Galaxy Note 7 smartphone in multiple markets, including Canada, after reports that batteries were catching fire. In a statement posted to its website Friday, the company said there had been 35 cases reported globally as of Sept. 1. “In response to recently reported cases of the new Galaxy Note7, we conducted a thorough investigation and found a battery cell issue,” the statement said.
