Louis Sherman, who was a commissioner with the CRTC from 1985 to 1995, has died. CRTC Chairman Jean-Pierre Blais issued a statement on Monday saying Sherman died on Friday at the age of 88. Blais said on behalf of himself, “colleagues and CRTC staff, I wish to express my appreciation for his contribution and offer sincere condolences to Mr. Sherman's family and friends.” For most of his time with the CRTC, Sherman served as vice-chairman of telecommunications.
