CBC proposes disclosing salary ranges, not salaries

CBC/Radio-Canada suggested disclosing salary ranges under the Access to Information Act instead of specific salaries. “We would suggest that the combination of our salary ranges being public, available proactively and under access to information, and specific salaries being the express responsibility of the Board of Directors, achieves the goal of enhanced transparency and accountability,” Maryse Bertrand, CBC's vice-president of legal services, told the House of Commons ethics and privacy committee Monday, according to her speaking notes posted on the broadcaster’s...
