Rogers’ Roam Like Home expands to Latin America

Rogers Communications Inc. said Tuesday that its Roam Like Home service has expanded to the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central and South America.  The company said in a press release that, starting immediately, travelers going to any of the eligible countries will be able to access unlimited talk and text, as well as data that they receive when in Canada part of their Share Everything plan, by adding $10 a day. The release noted that calls and texts within an eligible country or to Canada will not result in long-distance charges and Rogers will not add more than $100 to a customer’s monthly bill. Rogers becomes first Canadian carrier to aggregate LTE spectrum

Rogers Communications Inc. said Friday it has become the first Canadian wireless carrier to combine spectrum bands for enhanced LTE service, a move it said will improve the mobile-video experience of its customers, particularly those streaming hockey coverage. It has implemented technology that allows it to use 700 MHz and AWS spectrum simultaneously in some areas with certain devices, using a process known as carrier aggregation.
