CBC/Radio-Canada received a grade of “A” from Information Commissioner Suzanne Legault in a report tabled in Parliament Thursday. In a release, CBC said the grade was a “significant improvement” over the “F” it received in the commissioner’s 2009-2010 report. “We had a tough start under Access to Information, but we’ve worked hard to turn the ship around,” Hubert Lacroix, president and CEO of the broadcaster, said in a statement. “We appreciate seeing that effort recognized.” During a House of Commons Ethics Committee meeting in October 2011, Legault said the CBC had received about 1,400 information requests since it came under the Access to Information Act in 2007. “Of those, 1,000 have resulted in complaints...
