Quebec approves class action over Fibe advertising

The Quebec Superior Court has approved a class-action lawsuit against BCE Inc. for allegedly misrepresenting the type of connections customers receive when subscribing to its Fibe services. The representative plaintiff, Quebec resident Shay Abicidan, is suing for damages and a permanent injunction on the sale of Bell’s Fibe Internet and TV services due to the connections not being composed entirely of fibre optics, according to the March 30 decision authorizing the action.
