CBC/Radio-Canada said Thursday that Tara Ellis is its new executive director of scripted content. The public broadcaster said in a press release that Ellis will be in charge of teams producing comedies, dramas, kids' programming and digital originals. Ellis was most recently senior director of original drama content at Shaw Communications Inc.'s media division, and before that worked at CBC as an executive overseeing the production of movies and mini-series. "Tara is one of Canada’s leading media executives and her incredible reputation, creative expertise, relationships with the independent community and leadership experience will undoubtedly serve her well in this role,” Sally Catto, CBC's general manager of programming, said in the release....
