Mark Slone to head CAFDE

Mark Slone has been elected president of The Canadian Association of Film Distributors and Exporters. The lobby group announced the election of Slone, who is currently Entertainment One Ltd.’s executive vice-president of theatrical distribution and marketing, in a Thursday press release. This year “is promising to be an exciting year of opportunity for Canadian content feature films, with the Cancon consultations coming to a close and Canadian Heritage putting in place policy based on these consultations,” Slone said in the release. Slone, who was previously vice-president of CAFDE, is succeeding Victor Loewy, who remains with the organization.
