Gov’t funds 26 projects using tech to improve public safety

Projects involving wireless technology, power grid and nuclear lab cyber security and the use of Internet connectivity to help first responders communicate are among 26 initiatives to receive federal government funding, according to a Tuesday press release. Up to $20 million in funding is available under a program run by Defence Research and Development Canada and Public Safety Canada, the release said.
