Jim Cummins has been named VP of sales and Mike Kaumeyer has been appointed VP of marketing at Star Choice Communications. Cummins will be responsible for expanding the direct-to-home satellite services and subscriber base. He has worked for the past five years with Shaw Cablesystems GP. Kaumeyer has over 14 years of experience in sales and marketing. Jacques Bensimon has been appointed the new National Film Board chair and government film commissioner. He has been given a five-year term, effective June 18. He replaces Sandra Macdonald, who has been in the position since April 10, 1995. Bensimon, currently executive VP of the Banff Television Foundation, worked for the NFB from 1967 to 1985 and for TV Ontario-TFO from 1986 to 2000. Bob Culbert, who joined CTV Inc in January 2000 as commissioner of documentaries, becomes VP of documentaries at the network. He will be responsible for ensuring the synergy and coordination of major documentary efforts. Prior to joining CTV, he worked at the CBC for 29 years, most recently as executive director of news, current affairs and Newsworld. Lyse Lajoie has joined the Vision TV group of channels as director of programming for the Category 1 channel Body, Mind & Spirit, which is scheduled to launch in September 2001. Before joining Vision, she was the branding advisor for Montreal-based Astral Media Inc. As well, Joan Jenkinson becomes director of operations programming and Beverley Shenken becomes manager of acquisitions at Vision TV. Catherine Yuile has been appointed head of research at Globe Interactive, which operates the globeandmail.com Web site. Previously, she worked with CanWest Global Systems as a research analyst for Canvideo Television Sales, and for WIC Western International Communications Inc Television Sales. Alan Lolacher has been named president and CEO of Agilent Technologies Canada Inc. He replaces Alan Holdway who retired after nearly 34 years of service with the company.
