CCPA releases alternative budget, proposes increasing CBC funding, internet access in federal prisons

The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives (CCPA) has released its 2026-27 alternative federal budget (AFB) ahead of the government’s fall plan, pushing for more funding for the country’s public broadcaster, increasing broadcasting tax credits, and internet access for the federally incarcerated.
