Postmedia Network Canada Corp. has bolstered its digital leadership team with the addition of Simon Jennings in the new role of chief revenue and digital officer, the company announced Wednesday. Most recently the executive vice-president of Torstar Corp. subsidiary, Torstar Digital, and the president of Olive Media, Jennings will now lead Postmedia’s digital and sales teams “with the objectives of accelerating revenue generation and strategic product development,” Paul Godfrey, Postmedia’s president and CEO, said in the release. “We are truly thrilled to welcome Simon Jennings to Postmedia,” Godfrey said in the release. “Simon’s leadership in the digital space and passion for the industry are well-known.” Postmedia also announced on Wednesday that it has promoted former chief transformation and revenue officer Wayne Parrish to the position chief operating officer. The new role will see Parrish in charge of all of Postmedia’s newspaper operations in addition to his fomer role overseeing the company’s business development and transformation. “Since his appointment, Wayne has championed our business transformation, brought together groups from across our company and asked them to challenge the status quo,” Godfrey said. “Today’s new appointments and the streamlining of our senior executive team set us on the right footing to address some pretty aggressive strategic priorities in the year ahead.” Also on Wednesday, Postmedia announced that it has appointed Jeffrey Haar to the position of executive vice-president of legal and general counsel. Haar joins Postmedia from Brookfield Asset Management, and has previously served as general counsel at three different technology firms, a Postmedia release said.
