Corus Entertainment Inc.\u2019s Nelvana is shaking up its core team, with a new appointment and promotions, it said in a press release Wednesday. Mellany Masterson will rejoin the company as vice-president of sales, consumer products and international. She will manage the company\u2019s global consumer products business and content sales outside the Americas and Europe, the release said. Masterson has more than 13 years of experience and was the director of licensing for Broadband TV Corp. for five years prior to moving over to toy company Imports Dragon to be its director of business development, the release added. Furthermore, three people were promoted up the company\u2019s ranks. Lily Yan, who has almost two decades of experience, will be head of brands, Madeline Ferguson has been named senior international sales manager, and Jessica Brinder will be senior content distribution manager for domestic and digital, including sales management for on-demand content. Yan will manage the brands globally, which includes content and distribution strategy and marketing and partnerships with licensors and rights holders. Meanwhile, Ferguson will develop strategy to drive sales in Asia, Australia and the United Kingdom. Finally, Brinder will support North American content sales, the release said, with her \u201cstrong relationships and knowledge of the market best placement for Nelvana\u2019s content in the global digital market.\u201d The moves are in line with comments made by Corus\u2019 president and CEO Doug Murphy, who said on a fourth quarter conference call that the company hopes to see growth in international content sales this year.
