Stursberg pledges to double amount of homegrown TV drama broadcast in prime time on CBC English Television

The executive VP of CBC English Television Richard Stursberg pledged in a February 17 speech to the Broadcast Executives Society in Toronto that the public broadcaster would place a renewed emphasis on English-language homegrown TV drama. In the speech, he also criticized the CRTC’s attempt to rejuvenate TV drama through its ads-based incentives. Below is an excerpt from his speech.
