Copyright Board publishes proposed tariffs
The Copyright Board of Canada last week published two new proposed tariffs. Tariff 1.A would set the royalties to be collected by the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN) for the public performance by telecommunication of music for 2005-2007. The board has also published a proposed royalty for the retransmission of distant radio and television signals in Canada for 2004-2008.
