Government unveils Canada Interactive Fund for social media and mobile projects

The federal government is merging two web-focused funding initiatives for cultural groups into a single $37.5 million program scheduled to come online next April. The new Canada Interactive Fund (CIF) is designed primarily to help Aboriginal and ethno-cultural communities adopt new and emerging technologies such as Web 2.0 applications and mobile platforms.
