Gov’t awards $13.2M contract for mobile satellite comms

The federal government will spend $13.2 million on mobile satellite telecom equipment that it says will improve communication for public servants working abroad or in remote locations. Shared Services Canada said in a Wednesday press release that it has awarded three contacts to Dartmouth, Nova Scotia-based MetOcean Telematics and Ottawa-based Track24 Canada Ltd. for access to services and equipment operating on Iridium Communications Inc.’s satellite network.
