Google releases new WiFi router

Google Inc., in partnership with TP-LINK Technologies Co. Ltd., announced Tuesday it is launching a new WiFi router that it says will provide faster and more efficient Internet connections. OnHub, the router that looks like a black cup, has a “unique antenna design … [which] searches the airwaves and selects the best channel for the fastest connection,” Google said in a blog post. The router’s internal software runs in the background “automatically adjusting OnHub to avoid interference and keep your network at peak performance,” the company said. The router is managed and set up through the Google On app, which is available on Android software operated systems as well as Apple Inc.’s iOS, Google said.
